Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology was first founded in 1907. Before merging with HUST, it was a key medical university and directly under the leadership of the Ministry of Health. The comprehensive strength in teaching and research ranks the top of China’s medical university. 5 Tri-A hospitals totally with 5400 beds are attached to Tongji Medical College, among which both Tongji Affiliated Hospital and Union Affiliated Hospital are top-ranking hospitals in China. The international program of Telecommunication Engineering (TE) is undertaken by the Department of Electronics and Information Engineering of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, which recruits international students for undergraduate and postgraduate courses with English instruction. This program has gained high international repute since it started in 2005. A great number of Chinese government scholarship students and self-funded students have applied for this program, while a lot of governments scholarship students from Tanzania, Saudi Arabia, Sudan and other countries have been selected to get further studies and researches here.

The department has a total of 29 professors, 42 associate professors and 79 lecturers. After nearly 50 years of development, it has developed a great team of excellent teachers, who have extensive experiences about abroad study and cooperative research. In recent years, a lot of eminent professors from Australian Wollongong University, American Texas A&M University, English University College London and many other universities are entitled to be guest professors, improving the whole ability of running department. The international TE program of Huazhong University of Science and Technology was launched in 2005, and it has brought together around 200 international students from all over the world to study and research in this program. Based on the students' study requirements and knowledge foundation, we have set up the curriculums and cultivation plan as well as assigning experienced professors to teaching in fluent English. The international students have been impressed with excellent teaching staff, advanced lab equipments and scientific teaching methods in the International TE program.

Founded in 1953, the current School of Mechanical Science and Technology (SMSE) was known as the name of "the Department of Mechanical Engineering (1953-1987)" and "the First Department of Mechanical Engineering (1988-1992)" respectively. After several generations of unremitting efforts, well-equipped campus along with stimulating educational and research environment make SMSE one of the best known schools nationally and internationally. SMSE has now 291 faculty and staff, including 71 professors and 80 associate professors, among them there are 2 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, 3 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, 8 Changjiang Scholars, 2 Chief Scientists in the National 973 Program (State Key Fundamental Research Program in China), 5 Winners of the National Science Foundation for Distinguished Young Scholars, and 2 winners of "State Excellent Teacher".

The international program of Machine Design, Manufacturing and Automation is undertaken by the SMSE, which brings together all the most talents and best equipments to present the professional instruction in English for the international students.. The program is available for both undergraduate and graduate students, so that they would receive a complete and systematic training from the very beginning to the end. Besides, SMSE has set up a course structure special for the international students to meet the need of their requirements. Though newly established, it has attracted many interests from all over the world thanks to the unquestioned advantage in its teaching staff.
