In 1977 Graduated from Nanjing Institute of Technology(now Southeast University);

In 1982 Received his Master’s Degree;

From 1986 to 1988 and 1992 to 1994 Studied at Nagoya Institute of Technology, Japan and received his Ph.D in 1994.

Research Areas

Casting engineering and solidification theory, casting alloy and its smelting, metal functional materials, mechanical properties and application of shape memory alloys, research and preparation of tissue engineering materials, and metal materials surface engineering;

Work Experience

Since 1994 Faculty Director and Vice-President of Southeast University, and the Chair of the University’s Affairs Committee of Hohai University;

At present Executive Vice-President of HUST, deputy-director of the steering committee for the course of materials processing engineering of the Ministry of Education of China, standing director of Chinese Association of Higher Education, standing director of Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society, and director-general of the metalworking education seminar of Hubei Provincial Higher Education institutes;
