Academician of CAE
Li Peigen was born in Hubei Province in 1948. Currently, he is a professor and Ph.D. instructor in HUST. He was also the representative of the 17th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and deputy to 11th National People’s Congress. In December, 2003, he was elected the academician of CAE.
He obtained his master’s degree in Huazhong Institute of Technology in 1981 and headed for US to further his study in 1983. In 1987, he obtained his Ph.D in University of Wisconsin – Madison.
He was once the dean of School of Mechanical Science & Engineering, vice president of HUST, president of HUST, member of the expert panel of National 863 program / CIMS theme and National 863 program / Robot technology theme, member of expert committee of advance manufacturing & automation area of 863 Program. Currently, he is the vice director of Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society, director of Mechanical Engineering Teaching Steering Committee of Ministry of Education.
