Academician of CAS
Li Dequn was born in Taizhou, Jiangsu Province in August, 1945.
He graduated from the department of metallurgy of Tsinghua University in 1968. In 1981, he obtained his master’s degree of engineering in plastic working from Huazhong Institute of Technology. Since then, he has remained a faculty member there .
Currently, he is a professor in School of Material Science & Engineering, HUST. In 2015, he was elected academician of CAE.
For a long time, Professor Li has been devoted to the teaching and scientific research of the computer simulation of plastic syringing process, and CAD/CAE/CAM moulds. He has undertaken many National Key Technologies R & D Programs of China and the programs supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China, in which he conducted systematic R&D of plastics forming simulation and intelligent syringes with many significant achievements: He was twice awarded the National Second Prize for Science & Technology Progress in 2002 and 2007, the National Natural Science Second Prize in 2010 and multiple Provincial and Ministerial First Prizes for Science & Technology Progress and Excellent Teaching Achievements. In 2010, he was honored the national excellent science & technology worker.
