HUST participates in the China-Russia University Presidents’ Forum

From May 26 to 30, the 6th Annual Conference of the Association of Sino-Russian Technical Universities (ASRTU) and the China-Russia University Presidents’ Forum was held in Moscow. Xie Zhengxue, Vice Chair of the University Committee of HUST, attended the event and delivered a keynote speech titled “Driving Higher Education Transformation and Innovation with Artificial Intelligence,” sharing HUST’s innovative practices and achievements in digital education and smart education.


In his speech, Xie Zhengxue outlined HUST’s innovations in interdisciplinary research, AI curriculum and platform development, smart campus initiatives, and industry-education integration. He emphasized that education is the foundation for future talent, and higher education drives innovation and technological progress. Xie stressed that integrating AI with higher education is vital for improving quality and accelerating scientific and technological advancement worldwide. He called on higher education institutions globally to establish a framework for international digital education cooperation, share high-quality resources, and develop global standards, in order to cultivate innovative talent for the future.

 

 

During the roundtable discussion, Xie Zhengxue presented HUST’s achievements in world-class discipline development, technological innovation, talent cultivation, and international collaboration. He shared the university’s master plan and latest progress for its Junshan International Campus, extending sincere invitations to participating institutions for academic exchanges. Xie warmly welcomed outstanding Russian scholars and students to pursue research and studies at HUST.

 

The forum was jointly organized by the Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas and China University of Petroleum (East China), attracting nearly 50 prestigious institutions from both countries including Russia’s ITMO University, Bauman Moscow State Technical University, Moscow Power Engineering Institute, as well as China’s Harbin Institute of Technology, Tianjin University, Xi’an Jiaotong University, South China University of Technology, Shandong University, and Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics. During the conference, participants delivered presentations and held discussions on key themes including “Building World-Class Universities” and “Digital Transformation and AI-Driven Innovation in Higher Education.”

 

During the conference, HUST representatives held cooperation discussions with leaders from ITMO University, Ural Federal University, Admiral Makarov State University of Maritime and Inland Shipping, and North-Eastern Federal University.

 

Representatives from the HUST Office of International Affairs accompanied and participated in related activities.
