On May 20th,2017, which is also the celebration day of the 110th anniversary of Tongji Medical College, Prof. Chen Jianguo, the Vice President of HUST, and Prof. Jon Frampton, the Vice President of University of Birmingham, signed the intercollegiate cooperation agreement.
In the past few years, both HUST and UB have experienced a progressive cooperation from student exchange to joint research. Last year in 2016, HUST held a special “Birmingham Day” to introduce University of Birmingham all-around. It’s on these basis, both universities decided to push the bilateral relation further.
By this agreement, both universities will extend the current cooperation to the field of medical education and environmental research. Vice President Prof. Chen expressed his hearty welcome to the guests and hoped both sides have more and deeper collaboration in the future.
Mr. Mark Watchorn, the Deputy Counsul-General of UK in Wuhan also attended the signing ceremony. He pointed out in his speech that the intercollegiate cooperation between and among the best universities of these two countries is important to the civil exchange and cooperation between two countries. He himself was confident in this program.
