The 10th Confucius Institute Conference was held in Shanghai on Dec. 6th - 7th. Madam Liu Yandong, the Chinese Vice Premier and Chair of the Council of the Confucius Institute headquarters, attended and addressed the opening ceremony.

  HUST as a whole was praised for her work in the development of Confucius institutes. Mr. John Brender, the director of Confucius Institute at Wayne State University, was awarded as the “Confucius Institute Individual Performance Excellence Award”. Student from Confucius Institute at the University of Canterbury crowned the global championship of 2015’ Chineses Bridge-Chinese Proficiency Competition. Paulo from Confucius Insitute at Universidade Federal De Minas Gerais in Brazil won the Championship of the 1st Chinese Calligraphy Contest in Latin America.

 HUST Vice President Prof. Chen Jianguo took part in the conference and met the staff of the three co-established Confucius institutes in US, New Zealand and Brazil respectively.
