The 2022 HUST International Cultural Festival was successfully held at the Einstein Square on September 24. With the theme of "Build a Closer Belt and Road Partnership", the festival consists of three parts, cultural gala, cultural experience, culture exhibition and educational exhibition of Study at HUST.
Chen Jianguo, Vice President of HUST, delivered a congratulatory speech. He noted that 2022 marks both the 70th anniversary of HUST and the 60th anniversary of international student education at HUST. Over the past 60 years, HUST has cultivated a large number of outstanding talents for countries along the Belt and Road. He encouraged all students to strive forward and make greater contribution to the construction of the Belt and Road for building a community with a shared future for mankind.
The exciting cultural gala was performed by students from more than 30 countries. The audience was treated to wonderful African drum dance, Pakistani jhoomar cultural dance, Sri Lanka dance and singing, Beijing opera, Chinese plucked zither and bamboo flute, etc. Traditional and modern performances with distinctive cultural features fascinated the whole audience and ignited their full enthusiasm. winning round of warm applause from the audience.
Twenty cultural booths prepared by twelve countries and three associations attracted huge crowds of people. Student ambassadors wearing various traditional costumes introduced their cultures with pride and shared some typical cultural items of their countries, Yutnori game from Korea, Russian style pickled cucumber, authentic Thai mild tea, dried date palm fruit from Yemen, Pakistani hand tattoos, Turkmenistan traditional scarf, Ugandan folk dance, Madagascan exquisite handcraft, Cambodian green bean sweet soup, Bangladeshi snack Chanachur, Indonesian musical instrumental Angklung, Chinese ink painting and smart robot, etc. In front of the exhibition boards and booths, people from diverse cultures along the Belt and Road communicated face to face with mutual respect and inclusive altitude, boosting their mutual understanding for expanding beneficial cooperation.
