HUST team bagged 4 gold and 2 silver awards in the 13^th “Challenge Cup” Chinese College Students Entrepreneurship Competition (“Challenge Cup”) and took home the “Outstanding Cup”, ranking 2^nd in both the total score and the number of golds among over 3,000 participant universities nationwide. The Competition kicked off on March 17^th in the Beijing Institute of Technology and lasted three days.

The "Challenge Cup" was first held in 1999 and has been considered one of the most prestigious national entrepreneurship competitions for Chinese college students. This time in its 13th session, the biennial competition has seen a staggering 1.42 million students from 3,011 universities across the country compete on stage. The competition received 330,000 applications for innovative and entrepreneurial projects, and over 3 million participation in related activities. 154 gold prize-winning works and 309 silver prize-winning works were ultimately recognized.

On March 9th, Li Yuanyuan, the Chair of the University Committee, participated in a training event for the national final where he, along with heads of relevant departments, listened to the briefings of six projects and provided guidance. Various relevant departments and school institutions provided support for the preparation of the participating units.

In late 2021, HUST launched the organization work for this year’s "Challenge Cup", drawing enthusiastic participation. During the project selection process, a series of "Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship" events were held, involving experts, professors, investors, entrepreneurs, young start-up owners, and leaders from enterprises and institutions to aid the participants in their projects. For key projects, over 100 training sessions including project examination, mock defense, and youth entrepreneurship training camps were held to cultivate the innovation and entrepreneurship competence of the participants.
