On April 2, China’s 3x3 women’s basketball team won a bronze medal at the 2023 3x3 Basketball FIBA Asia Cup by defeating Thailand with a final score of 11-9.
In this event, China's 3x3 women's basketball team sent a lineup of four players with an average age of 22, including Zhang Lingge, Zhang Yi, Chen Yujie, and Zhang Jianping. Among them, Chen Yujie is a member of HUST’s high-level women's basketball team and a graduate student at the School of Physical Education.
Recently, in preparation for upcoming events such as the World Cup, Asian Games, U23 National League, 3x3 U23 World Cup and Olympic Games, Zhai Huan, the head coach of HUST’s high-level women's basketball team, has been selected as part of the coaching staff for the Chinese national team. Several players of HUST’s women's basketball team have also been called up to participate in competitions for the national team, including Chen Yujie and Huo Juntong, both graduate students at the School of Physical Education, as well as undergraduate students Liu Bei, Gao Jianjun and Yang Tanyueying from the School of Public Administration.
In the 2023 3x3 Basketball Thailand Super League (3x3BTSL) held on March 15 and 16, Liu Bei competed as a member of Chinese U23 team and Chen Yujie represented the Chinese national team. The two teams won the first and second place respectively.

In 2022, HUST’s high-level men’s and women’s basketball teams reached a second joint agreement with the Basketball Center of Hubei Administration of Sports, providing our athletes with more systematic and professional supports as well as more opportunities to compete at home and abroad.
