On May 26th, HUST Institute for Digital Aerospace Technology, the first of its kind in China, was inaugurated and the director appointment ceremony was held.
Yu Dengyun, Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Dean of HUST School of Aerospace Engineering, and Professor Xu Xiaodong, Vice President of HUST, jointly inaugurated the Institute for Digital Aerospace Technology. Li Zhi was appointed as the director of the institute as well as a professor of HUST.

Xu Xiaodong indicated that it is important to grasp the historical opportunity of digital economy development and accelerate the construction of national space projects through digital industrialization and industrial digitalization. Xu also stated that HUST attaches great significance to the development of subjects of mechanics and aerospace engineering, and it is the right time for the School of Aerospace Engineering to establish the Institute for Digital Aerospace Technology. He hoped that the institute would develop particular research areas, undertake more national key projects, and make greater contributions to the field of aerospace.
It is learned that the launch of the institute meets the country’s urgent need for digital transformation in the field of aerospace, and shows HUST’s important role in building China into a power in internet, digital economy, science and technology, and aerospace. In the future, with a number of high-level talents and scientific research bases, the institute will promote the digital transformation of the aerospace industry by developing digital technology and digital assets.
