The Micro-Nano Technology and Medical Innovation Conference 2024 was held from May 25 to 27 at the Optics Valley Convention and Exhibition Center. Under the theme of “Micro-Nano Technology Empowering Healthy China, Medical-Engineering Integration Enabling Innovative Development” the event brought together over 1,200 representatives from various fields, including nanotechnology research, education, production, application and policy research. Nearly 500 experts and scholars delivered academic reports.
The conference was co-chaired by Professor You Zheng, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Honorary Chairman of the Chinese Society of Micro-Nano Technology and President of HUST, Professor Teng Gaojun at Southeast University, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Science, and Professor Duan Wenhui at Tsinghua University, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Science.
You Zheng delivered an overview of HUST’s recent achievements in micro-nano technology, biophysics and sensory biology. Looking forward, HUST will stay committed to the interdisciplinary development of Science, Engineering and Medicine and facilitate innovation and technology transfer in these fields.
Xia Song, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Hubei Province, highlighted the significance of micro-nano technology in scientific development. He stressed that innovation is crucial to industrial advancement and that medical-engineering integration will enhance China’s health industry.
Wang Yuelin, Vice President of the Chinese Society of Micro-Nano Technology, extended a warm welcome to the participants and highlighted that micro-nano technology significantly contributes to the medical industry in areas such as detection, diagnosis and treatment. The conference provided a platform for research exchanges and facilitated medical-engineering integration.
12 leading experts delivered reports on the latest advancements in nanomedicine, clinical application of medical-engineering integration and the industrialization of micro-nano technology.
Special sessions focused on ten topics, including the application of micro-nano robots in medicine, implantable micro-nano biosensors, nanomolecular medical imaging, nanobiomedical materials, the design and manufacturing of micro-nano biomedical devices, nanotoxicology and regulatory science, and nanotechnology product regulation. A branch forum of the conference, supported by Small Methods, provided a platform for academic exchanges between young scholars.
The conference was hosted by the Chinese Society of Micro-Nano Technology and organized by the National Engineering Research Center for Nanomedicine at HUST, with academic support from the journal EngMedicine.
