On December 7, the inaugural ceremony of the first Chinese-German Class in 2024 was held at the School of Mechanical Science and Engineering (MSE).
Main attendees included leaders and professors from the Graduate School, the Office of Basic and Continuing Education, the Undergraduate School, the Office of International Affairs, the School of Foreign Languages, and MSE.
Chen Rong, Vice Dean of MSE, pointed out that the Chinese-German Class is a joint training program between HUST and renowned German universities such as RWTH Aachen University. It aims to foster students’ international vision and innovative capabilities by deeply integrating high-quality educational resources from China and Germany, thereby providing students with a broad platform for development.
Zhang Fen, Chair of the School Committee of MSE, said that the establishment of this Chinese-German Class marks an important step taken by MSE for global development and is a vivid reflection of friendly cooperation with German universities. Students admitted into this class should cherish the opportunity and pursue self-improvement with great enthusiasm and perseverance, in order to brace themselves for international competitions.
The German language teaching team also promised to provide the best educational services for students in the class with professionalism and excellent teaching abilities. Later, a student representative from the class expressed gratitude to MSE and HUST, and showed determination to seize this learning opportunity and contribute to the friendship between China and Germany.
The Chinese-German Class seeks to cultivate inter-disciplinary talent with international visions, innovative abilities, and cross-cultural communication skills. It will inject fresh vitality into friendly cooperation and exchanges between China and Germany in education, science & technology, culture, and more.
