A delegation led by Tatacipta Dirgantara, Rector of the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) in Indonesia, visited Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) on May 20, where they were greeted by HUST’s Vice President Zhang Yonghui.

Zhang Yonghui provided an overview of HUST's development and reviewed the foundation of collaborations with Indonesian universities. He noted that under the Belt and Road Initiative, China and Indonesia have established a high-level strategic partnership. He expressed a desire to expand cooperation with ITB and welcomed its students to participate in various long- and short-term exchange programs at HUST. He also expressed his hope to nurture talent capable of contributing to the social development of China and Indonesia.

Tatacipta Dirgantara highly commended HUST's achievements in cultivating professional talent and driving cutting-edge technological innovation. He presented ITB’s basic profile and its international collaboration and exchange initiatives, expressing a desire to strengthen academic exchanges, foster collaboration in research and industry-academia-research innovation in disciplines such as engineering, and promote bilateral student exchanges and scholar visits to build a solid bridge for communication between faculty and students of both countries. Tatacipta Dirgantara envisioned advancing cooperation in talent training, research, and innovation in higher education between China and Indonesia.

During the discussions, both sides engaged in in-depth exchanges on student training programs and collaboration.

The delegation also visited the State Key Laboratory of Intelligent Manufacturing Equipment and Technology at HUST.
