HUST's alumni enterprise goes public on HKEX

Shenzhen LDROBOT Co (LDROBOT) (stock code: 01236.HK), co-founded by Zhou Wei and Guo Gaihua, both alumni of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), was officially listed on the Main Board of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing (HKEX) on May 11, becoming China’s first listed spatial perception robotics company.

Zhou Wei, an alumnus of HUST's School of Mechanical Science and Engineering, who enrolled in 2004, led a team to win the championship at the China Robot Soccer Tournament during his undergraduate studies in 2007. After earning his master's degree in 2012, he joined forces with Guo Gaihua, another alumnus who enrolled in 2003, to establish Inmotion Co.

In 2017, they founded LDROBOT in Shenzhen, focusing on core technologies in robotic visual perception. Their products are applied to robotic vacuum cleaners, service robots, and lawn-mowing robots, with over 6 million robots equipped with this technology.

LDROBOT is a leading domestic provider of LiDAR sensors and solutions. By 2025, its DTOF LiDAR shipments had exceeded 4 million units, ranking first globally. Its products have been applied to robotic vacuum cleaners, educational robots, service robots, industrial robots, commercial robots, digital multimedia interactions, industrial automation, and security.
