In early April, at the COVID-19 Prevention and Control Conference of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, it was clearly proposed that staff, especially those on the frontline engaged in medical and public services, should all be tested for COVID-19 and HUST will ensure that all those in need can be quarantined, hospitalized or treated, as the epidemic prevention and control has normalized in all respects.

As an approved institution of COVID-19 testing (sampling) by Wuhan Health Commission, University Hospital of HUST strictly follows the requirements to conduct physical examination for faculty and staff who will return to work on campus. An emergency physical examination team of approximately 20 workers was established. Under a flexible work shift, they mobilized medical equipment and set up plans for mass physical examination and counter measures. Team members have done a great job in their respective positions to tackle emergencies with limited staff. They worked over 10 hours a day for more than 10 days in order to finish mass physical examination sooner.

As of April 26th, University Hospital Physical Examination Center had communicated with 83 secondary units of HUST to finalize the mass examination plan. Over 5300 appointments, over 2200 informative sessions, 3800 physical examinations, over 3600 epidemiological investigations, 5 door-to-door group physical examinations and 900 consultations after examination and also telephone follow-ups had been finished sequentially. 3800 personal health reports and 50 group health reports had been issued.

University Hospital goes all out and works around clock to complete the mass physical examination and ensure the safety of all HUST staff.
