On Jan.23th, the winter camp on nursing exchange of the University of Sydney was closed in HUST. 22 teachers and students in the Nursing School of University of Sydney conducted an unforgettable two-week-long exchange in HUST from Jan.10th to Jan.23th.
During the exchange, the 22 teachers and students in the Nursing School of University of Sydney had a wide exchange and interaction with their counterparts in HUST. They paid a visit to the lab of Department of Nursing in HUST and conducted clinical probation in different departments of Union Hospital and Tongji Hospital. They also went to
Wuhan Mental Health Center to acquaint themselves with the development of mental nursing in China and to the apartment for old people in Jianghan District of Wuhan to get to know the new model of providing for the elderly combining medical treatment and nursing. They also conducted community nursing probation in HUST campus hospital to get to know the community health service in China. The two-week-long exchange also offered them the opportunity to appreciate the history and culture of Hubei and the colorful citizen life there.
It’s introduced that the education and nursing program in University of Sydney enjoys great prestige, known as the largest nurse training school in the southern hemisphere.
In 2011, HUST and The University of Sydney signed a formal agreement on the academic exchange in nursing between the two universities.
So far, altogether 65 people in the two universities have participated in the internationalized course teaching on nursing and the reciprocal exchange program.
