The Summer School program provides an opportunity to senior students and young professionals working in the private and public sectors to acquire deeper knowledge of each domain of intellectual property (IP) and to develop IP skills in these areas.
The program consists of lectures, case studies, simulation exercises and group discussions on selected IP topics, with an orientation towards the interface between IP and Small and Medium Enterprises.
A certificate of participation is awarded to participants who successfully complete the program requirements.

Format of the Summer School
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Summer School will be held in hybrid mode.
The Summer School is open to senior students and young professionals from any field of study or discipline. The Summer School is designed for candidates who wish to obtain deeper knowledge of IP law.
All applicants are required to have successfully completed the WIPO distance learning General Course on Intellectual Property before the registration deadline. Applicants who have not taken the DL-101 General Course on IP within the last 36 months are kindly requested to register for the DL101 Special Session.
Applications must be submitted online with résumés, letters of motivation, and copies of passports (or identity cards).
Registration fees are payable to Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) upon notification of acceptance. They fall into the following categories:
Students and young professionals from developing countries and countries in transition and residing in those countries:
Young professionals: USD200
Students and young professional from developed countries:
Young professionals: USD600.
Tuition fees are as advertised on the website and can only be paid through the online payment method or bank transfer.
