On March 22nd, Huang Li, HUST alumnus, Vice President of All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, and Chief Executive of Wuhan Guide Infrared Co., Ltd., donated one hundred million yuan to promote the educational development of HUST. The donation ceremony was held at Wutongyu Academic Exchange Center. HUST leaders, including Li Yuanyuan, You Zheng, Xu Xiaodong, and Liang Qian, attended the ceremony.
Li Yuanyuan, Chair of the University Committee, presented the donation nameplate to Huang and his family.
You Zheng, President of HUST, presented the donation certificate to Huang and his family.
Xu Xiaodong, Vice President of HUST, signed the donation agreement with Huang and accepted the check on behalf of HUST.
Huang Li mentioned that precious experiences of him and his family studying or working in HUST forge and strengthen the tie between his family and HUST. He further stated that, without his education at HUST, he would not have been able to make such achievements today. Huang hoped to pay tribute to his mentors and give back to his alma mater with the donation. As HUST approaches its 70th anniversary, Huang said that he will continue to bring alumni together to make greater contributions to the development of the alma mater.
You Zheng expressed gratitude for Huang’s donation. He emphasized that the donation is not only a gift for HUST’s 70th anniversary but also a sign of faith and anticipation for the university’s future. You Zheng stated that the donation will be the impetus for HUST to forge ahead, bringing the university’s development to a new level in all respects. Measures will be taken to accelerate the construction of a world-class university with Chinese characteristics, to implement the fundamental task of moral education, to improve strategic scientific and technological strength, and to enhance its core competitiveness.
