New Energy Chemistry and Device Conference 2023 held at HUST

From May 12th to 14th, the New Energy Chemistry and Device Conference 2023 sponsored by the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of HUST was held in Wuhan both online and offline. More than 100 experts, scholars, and students from home and abroad attended the conference.


 


At the opening ceremony, more than 10 experts attended the meeting, including Professor Gi-Ra Yi from Pohang University of Science and Technology, Professor Li Guangshe from Jilin University, and Professor Xu Xin from Fudan University. Eight experts attended the meeting online including Professor Tai-Shung Chung, Emeritus Professor at the National University of Singapore and Fellow of Academy of Engineering Singapore, Chen Jie, Director of the Office of International Affairs, HUST, and Tan Bi’en, Dean of the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, delivered speeches respectively.


 


In her speech, Chen Jie said that HUST has always adhered to a global strategy and actively participated in international exchanges and cooperation. Up to now, HUST has partnered with more than 300 universities and institutions around the world and welcomes global experts to carry out scientific research cooperation and academic exchanges. Project 111, which the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering has joined, is an international exchange and cooperation project, which made fruitful achievements. This conference will provide a platform for academic exchanges among experts and scholars in related fields around the world, and further promote the development of related scientific research and industrial applications.


 


In Tan’s speech, he said that since the establishment of the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, it has always attached great importance to international development. The School expanded international cooperation partners, cultivated talents with global perspectives, fostered international research cooperation, and improved the quality of international education through programs including Project 111. He hopes to take this conference as an opportunity to further strengthen the exchange and collaboration between Chinese and foreign scholars in related fields and to promote the international development of the chemistry discipline at the School.


In the report session of the conference, 21 well-known domestic and foreign experts delivered academic reports on cutting-edge issues and had in-depth exchanges with the attending teachers and students.


 


 


At the closing ceremony, Jiang Hongyang, Chair of the School Committee, School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, delivered a closing speech. He said that with long-term collaboration and exchange carried out with global high-level experts, a stable and productive foundation has been built for future cooperation.
