Delegation of the University of Birmingham visits HUST

On March 28 and 29, Professor Jon Frampton, Deputy Pro-Vice-Chancellor (China) of the University of Birmingham, and a delegation visited HUST to promote the joint undergraduate program in Pharmacy. On the morning of March 29, Ma Jianhui, Vice Chair of the University Committee of HUST and Chair of the Committee of Tongji Medical College, met with Professor Frampton and his delegation. Relevant representatives from the Office of International Affairs and the School of Pharmacy also attended the meeting.

 

 

On behalf of HUST, Ma Jianhui extended a warm welcome to the delegation. He pointed out that HUST attaches great importance to the key partnership with the University of Birmingham. The Joint Education Program in Pharmacy aims to train leading talents with solid knowledge and international competency. He expected deeper exchanges between the two sides to produce more landmark achievements in terms of developing joint curriculum and collaborative research.

Professor Frampton briefly introduced his initial ideas on deepened cooperation between the two universities in the medical field. During their visit, the delegation learned about the latest progress on the Junshan Campus and conducted in-depth discussions with the JEP work team from the School of Pharmacy and the Office of International Affairs on enrollment arrangements, curriculum optimization and project development. He hoped to expand cooperation to areas such as translational medicine and health information management.
