On the morning of September 30, Nobuo Mishima, Vice President of Saga University (Japan), led a delegation to visit HUST. Zhang Yonghui, Vice President of HUST, met with the delegation. Professor Chen Xuedong, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and professor at the School of Mechanical Science and Engineering, along with Chen Jie, Director of the Office of International Affairs, and Yin Zhouping, Dean of the School of Mechanical Science and Engineering, attended the meeting.

Zhang Yonghui extended a warm welcome to the delegation. He gave a brief introduction to HUST and emphasized the importance HUST places on exchanges with Japanese universities. He mentioned that Academician Chen Xuedong had pursued his doctoral degree at Saga University, and expressed hope that the two universities could promote mutually beneficial cooperation in areas such as student and faculty exchanges, talent training, and research collaboration.

Nobuo Mishima expressed his gratitude for the warm reception by HUST. He introduced Saga University, and congratulated Professor Chen Xuedong on being elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. He highly praised the outstanding research and contributions made by Chen Xuedong, an alumnus of Saga University. Nobuo Mishima also expressed hope that Chen would continue to help enhance the influence of Saga University and looked forward to further strengthening the friendship between the two universities.

Chen Xuedong expressed his deep gratitude to Saga University. He noted that the professionalism and dedicated guidance of the professors had a positive impact on his subsequent research work and inspired him to continuously strive for excellence.

During the discussion session, Yin Zhouping pointed out that Saga University has cultivated many outstanding talents. He hoped to further strengthen joint talent training between the two sides and engaging in in-depth exchanges and plans based on the bilateral strengths.

The Saga University delegation also visited the Laboratory Center for the School of Mechanical Science and Engineering. Both sides exchanged views on strengthening cooperation and promoting faculty and student exchanges.
