On February 5th, the School of Management at Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) received official notification from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) that it has been granted a six-year reaccreditation after being deliberated by AACSB Continuous Improvement Review Committee and approved by its Board of Directors. The school has received its first AACSB accreditation in 2020.

In November 2024, an AACSB expert review team conducted a three-day evaluation. The team held 17 discussions with the university leaders, school administrators, and other relevant representatives. The evaluation comprehensively assessed the school’s vision and mission, strategic development, teaching and research, faculty development, talent cultivation, personnel management, and social responsibility.

The review team highly praised the School of Management for its significant development in recent years, highlighting its state-of-the-art teaching facilities and impressive progress in areas such as disciplinary development, faculty, and talent cultivation. Special mention was given to the school’s distinctive educational approach. Powered by HUST’s strong engineering background, this approach has successfully broken down disciplinary barriers and fostered deep integration between management studies and STEM fields, creating new responsibilities for interdisciplinary collaboration.

Since receiving its first AACSB accreditation in 2020, the school has consistently aligned its development with both its needs and the accreditation standards, driving reforms in education and teaching. In 2022, the school launched its reaccreditation process and simultaneously advanced the third and fourth rounds of its Assurance of Learning (AoL) system. These efforts, driven by the dedication of faculty and students, have resulted in significant progress in disciplines, faculty development, teaching quality, and research innovation. These advancements have not only improved the school’s academic standing and global reputation, but also laid a solid foundation for its successful reaccreditation.

This six-year reaccreditation symbolizes the School of Management’s leading position in global business education. In the future, the school will continue to deepen educational reforms, strengthen international collaborations, and build a world-class management school renowned domestically and internationally.

Founded in 1916 by 16 leading universities, including Harvard, Columbia, and Yale, AACSB is a non-profit organization committed to advancing business education through rigorous standards and management systems. As the oldest and most prestigious accreditation body in business education, AACSB certification represents the highest international recognition, currently held by fewer than 5% of business schools worldwide. HUST’s School of Management has achieved multiple international milestones in recent years, including AMBA accreditation in 2012, 2016, and 2021, and its first AACSB accreditation in 2020. This reaccreditation will further assist the school’s long-term development.
