Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) has been awarded the HSK Study in China Best Partners Award at the 2025 World Chinese Language Conference held in Beijing from Nov 14 to 16. Professor Zhou Liping from the School of International Education accepted the award on behalf of the university.

The conference brought together representatives from HUST's partner Confucius Institutes, including those at the University of Canterbury in New Zealand, the Federal University of Minas Gerais in Brazil, and Grigore T. Popa University of Medicine and Pharmacy Iasi in Romania, with both Chinese and international directors attending the event.

Focused on the role of digital technology in advancing Chinese language education, the conference explored topics such as smart campus development, the integration of Chinese language learning with vocational education, international language partnerships, and two-way cultural exchange.

HUST and its partner institutions participated in the main forum and parallel sessions, contributing to discussions on the “Chinese +” education ecosystem, intelligent language assessment, and digital applications in Confucius Institute operations. Representatives from the Confucius Institute at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (CI-UFMG) also took part in the China-CELAC Forum of Education Development.

HUST also participated as an exhibitor at the China Education Expo 2025, where it engaged with overseas universities, Confucius Institute leaders, Chinese language centers, education organizations, and international students in China. The university presented its academic programs, admission policies, scholarship opportunities, and short- and long-term cultural initiatives, laying the groundwork for future cooperation.

Hosted by the Ministry of Education and organized by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation and partner institutions, the conference attracted more than 2,000 participants from over 160 countries and regions. The event offered HUST valuable insight into global trends, policy directions, and technological innovation in international Chinese language education.
