On the morning of May 24, a Fujita Health University (FHU) delegation led by Prof. Yukio Yuzawa, President of FHU, visited HUST. Present at the meeting were Xu Xiaodong, Vice President of HUST; Chen Jie, Director of the Office of International Affairs; and Li Yan, Vice Dean of Tongji Medical College.

Xu Xiaodong extended a warm welcome to Yukio Yuzawa’s visit and provided an overview of HUST, mainly focusing on Tongji Medical College and Union Hospital. He highlighted a successful transnational life-saving collaboration and the strong foundation of partnership between the two universities. Moreover, Xu expressed his hope of expanding their cooperation in cardiovascular fields to further strengthen medical, educational, and high-level research connections. He also envisioned deeper communications to promote educational exchanges and technological development between China and Japan, ultimately benefiting the building of a global community of health for all.

Yukio Yuzawa extend his appreciation for the the warm reception and gave an overview of FHU, and stressed that the university attached great importance to talent training, medical services, as well as research and innovation, particularly in cutting-edge areas like rehabilitation and surgical robotics. He hoped that both parties would leverage their strengths, and make joint contribution to international medical innovation and social welfare.

Xu Xiaodong and Yukio Yuzawa officially signed the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation between HUST and FHU.
