From November 16 to 17, the 10th East Lake Forum on Global Governance was held in Wutongyu Academic Exchange Center, hosted by Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST). The event was organized by the Institute of State Governance of HUST and the Co- Innovation Center for State Governance of Hubei Province. The theme of the symposium was "Common Security and Global Governance".
During the Forum, the unveiling ceremony of “Global Governance Joint Research Center between the Institute of State Governance of HUST and the Confucius Institute of Uni Graz” was successfully held.
HUST’s achievements on education and scientific innovation were addressed at the conference. Our university attaches great importance to interdisciplinary research and international cooperation, and actively participates in solving global problems.
The Forum aims to build an open, inclusive and diversified exchange platform for experts and scholars from different countries, cultural backgrounds and disciplines to collaborate and focus on various topics of global security, in order to seek innovative ideas and feasible solutions for common security and global governance. All the experts and scholars were encouraged to carry out in-depth and extensive exchanges and discussions at the Forum.
The Institute of State Governance of HUST is committed to the research of major issues in national and global governance. It insists on actively promoting governance theory exploration and policy consultation, deeply participates in the research of global governance issues, widely carries out international exchanges and cooperation, and has achieved a series of results. The institute has become a research platform with certain influence in global governance. Researchers of philosophy and social sciences have the responsibility to deepen the "Global Security Initiative", promote innovation, and contribute wisdom to common security and global governance.
The East Lake Forum on Global Governance has had a significant positive impact at home and abroad and has become an important academic brand of social sciences in Hubei Province and a global high-level academic exchange platform. It contributes the wisdom of Hubei and China to global governance. As a major province in social sciences, Hubei has the obligation to contribute more high-quality research results to promote common security and global governance.
This symposium, with the theme of "Common Security and Global Governance", aims to explore the interaction of three security evolution logics. It focuses on the common security of the world, which is not only the call of the times but also the responsibility of the academic community and scholars. The goal of this conference is to make outstanding contributions to the theoretical and practical innovations and the security of China and the world.
The Forum included three keynote reports and two youth forums. During the Forum, the unveiling ceremony of “Global Governance Joint Research Center between the Institute of State Governance of HUST and the Confucius Institute of Uni Graz” was held.
Attendees included more than 60 experts and scholars from well-known institutions all over the world, as well as more than 150 teachers and students.
