The opening ceremony of the 2026 Outstanding Development Opportunity Scholarship (ODOS) Summer Camp was held on March 23, hosted by Thailand's Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa) and organized by the School of Software Engineering at Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST).

Chen Rong, Dean of the School of International Education, welcomed the teachers and students from Thailand, hoping they would become ambassadors for the digital economy and cultural exchange. The university has educated over 17,000 international students from more than 160 countries and regions, including nearly 1,000 from Thailand.

Nuttawut Morakot from Thailand's depa expressed gratitude to HUST for organizing the event, stating that the program would continue to provide Thai youth with opportunities to study cutting-edge technologies, enhancing Sino-Thai collaboration in science and education. Thai student representative Hana Dadsadajan also shared her anticipation for this program.

Wang Shixian, Chair of the School Committee at the School of Software Engineering, reflected on the 2025 summer camp's achievements, and highlighted the school's talent cultivation in fields such as AI, before announcing the opening of this year's camp.

This year's program, themed "AI empowering a better life", offers courses in AI, data science, virtual reality, robotics, and more, emphasizing hands-on practice and interactive learning. By hosting the program for the second time, the School of Software Engineering aims to provide a platform for Thai youth to learn and engage with advanced technologies.
