Cui Zhanfeng, Foreign Member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Tenured Professor at the University of Oxford, and Founding Dean of the Oxford Suzhou Center for Advanced Research (OSCAR), visited Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) on March 18 for academic exchanges, and participated in the "Life, Career, Nation" Lecture Series – the Distinguished Engineer Forum.  

Cui delivered a speech, drawing on his research experience at the University of Oxford and OSCAR to present an overview of cutting-edge advancements in medicine-engineering interdisciplinary research, advanced chemical engineering, and regenerative medicine.

Cui emphasized the importance of breaking down barriers between disciplines, fostering interdisciplinary thinking, and translating scientific research into practical applications, underscoring the principle of applying knowledge to real-world needs.

After the event, Cui visited Tongji Medical College's Union Hospital and participated in a symposium to learn about the hospital's practices and achievements in medicine-engineering interdisciplinary research, clinical translation, and disciplinary development. The two sides discussed and reached a consensus on cooperation in areas such as joint scientific research, platform construction, and personnel exchanges.
