Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) launched the 2026 "Discover at HUST" AI Robot International Summer School on June 29. The program has enrolled 54 overseas university students from 18 countries, including Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Singapore.
At the opening ceremony, Xu Jianfeng, Vice Dean of the School of Mechanical Science and Engineering, highlighted the school's strengths in the fields of AI and advanced robotics, welcoming students from around the globe to study and share their ideas.
Cui Yan, Associate Professor and faculty representative from the school, shared motivational insights on professional study and research practices with the international participants. Yan Wei, Director of the International Admission and Cooperation Office of School of International Education, also delivered a comprehensive introduction to the university-level "Discover at HUST" international exchange programs and the specific policies for this summer school.
Counsellor Zeng Zheng provided an overview of the course schedule, management rules, logistical support, and safety guidelines, while also introducing the faculty and volunteer teams.
The international students toured the History Museum of HUST and the National Demonstration Center for Experimental Mechanical Engineering Education, gaining insights into HUST's development, academic achievements, and research facilities.
The summer school program spans half a month and includes a rich variety of activities, ranging from cutting-edge courses and academic lectures to hands-on robotics training, visits to key laboratories and leading enterprises, and cultural experiences celebrating Chinese heritage.
