The International Education and Scientific Innovation Campus (Junshan Campus) of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) opened on Sept 2, welcoming nearly 3,000 first-year master's students enrolled for 2026.
HUST President You Zheng, Vice President Wen Jinyu, Liu Ziqing, Chair of the Working Committee of the Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone(WETDZ), and Zhao Yongqiang, Vice Chair of the Working Committee of WETDZ visited the campus, inspecting the setup of welcome stations, student dormitories, and the campus clinic, and checking the progress of student registration, housing arrangements, and campus card issuance to ensure everything ran smoothly.
You Zheng toured the registration points of various departments, learning about the process, orientation plans, and logistical preparations. He also interacted with staff members and volunteers, expressing his gratitude for their dedication. He encouraged the new students to focus on their research and strive for academic excellence at the new campus.
He also visited the dormitories of new students from the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, where he examined living conditions and facilities, interacted with the students, and advised them to adapt to their new environment, support one another, and progress together.
All full-time professional master's students enrolled in 2026, except those majoring in medicine and cybersecurity, will study at the Junshan Campus. Classes will begin on Sept 7, with over 330 courses offered this semester. More than 200 faculty members have already familiarized themselves with teaching equipment and the campus environment in preparation for the new academic term.
Chair of the University Committee Liu Bo also visited the main campus on Sept 1 to inspect the graduate student registration process. She visited student dormitories to meet new graduate students, encouraging them to overcome challenges, apply their learning in practice, and acquire genuine skills and knowledge. Vice Presidents Feng Dan and Zhang Yonghui conducted similar registration inspections at the main campus and Tongji Medical College, respectively.
