The 11th Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) and Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU) Bilateral Graduate Student Workshop and Annual Academic Conference were held on Sept 14 at HUST's School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering.
Faculty members and students from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore; Georgia Institute of Technology, the United States; Wuhan University and other domestic universities also participated, discussing cutting-edge topics in energy, biology, materials, and related chemical engineering fields.

The annual conference, initiated in 2015 and held alternately between HUST and SKKU, has become a key forum for academic collaboration, with the two universities having jointly established the China-Korea Functional Polymer Materials and Devices Research Center and co-published a special issue in Advanced Functional Materials.
During the opening ceremony, speakers announced the upcoming establishment of the Sino-Korean Consortium for Chemical Sciences, which aims to provide structured channels for research and student exchanges.
The conference, divided into sub-sessions on biology, energy, and materials, featured keynote speeches by professors from both China and abroad, and over 20 graduate students presenting reports. Judges from China and Korea evaluated the presentations and awarded certificates to outstanding students during the closing ceremony.

The School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at HUST and the College of Chemical Engineering at SKKU co-organized this annual meeting. The two universities have maintained a long-standing, fruitful partnership that fosters multi-level academic exchanges.
