Han Fengtao, who enrolled at the School of Artificial Intelligence and Automation of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) in 2004, is the founder and CEO of Spirit AI Co. With over a decade of experience, he is driving innovation and entrepreneurship in the robotics industry.

In 2015, Han Fengtao co-founded Rokae Co and served as CTO, leading the R&D and delivery of more than 20,000 industrial robots across more than 20 industries.
Recognizing the limitations in traditional robots' adaptability to dynamic environments, Han pivoted to embodied intelligence following breakthroughs in large-scale AI models in 2023. Simultaneously, he returned to HUST to pursue a doctorate under the mentorship of Professor Ding Han, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, bridging academic research with industry-driven innovation.

In January 2024, Spirit AI Co was established in Hangzhou, securing nearly 200 million yuan ($27.4 million) in financing within six months. By 2025, its total financing surpassed 1.5 billion yuan, and the company ranked second on The Information's "50 Most Promising Startups of 2025" list for the Asia region.

In June 2025, Spirit AI Co unveiled Moz1, a high-performance, full-force-control humanoid robot developed domestically. The robot features the Spirit v1 vision-language-motion model, enabling it to perform complex tasks like folding clothes. Han Fengtao proposed his plan, envisioning that 10 percent of global users would be equipped with humanoid robots within the next decade. He predicted faster adoption in industrial settings, while household integration would take approximately five years.

In April 2025, Han Fengtao returned to HUST and delivered an inspiring talk themed around embodied revolution at an innovation and entrepreneurship salon, motivating students with his visionary insights.

Han Fengtao is currently working to advance HUST's disciplinary development and to foster deeper integration among academia, industry, and research. In November 2025, during the 17th HUST Global Alumni Entrepreneur Forum, Han shared his entrepreneurial journey and resources with fellow alumni, bringing valuable experience and support back to HUST.
